COLONEL DAYANG SURIYATI BINTI HAJI JUNAIDI

Col Dayang Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi was born on 24 July 1971. She enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in September 1995 and graduated from the SAFTI Military Institute, Singapore in July 1997.
Throughout her career, she has held numerous key appointments: Recruit Intake Commander (1997-1998), SO3 Intelligence and Operations at Royal Brunei Service Support (1998-1999), SO3 Research (1999-2002), SO2 Foreign Military Liaison as well as SO2 Intelligence (2002-2006), SO2 Intelligence Operations (2010-2011) at Directorate of Intelligence, SO2 Intelligence and Security at the Royal Brunei Land Force (2006-2009), Deputy Chief Instructor (2011-2013) and Chief Instructor (2013 – 2016) at Defence Academy. Prior to being appointed as the Deputy Chief Instructor, Col Dayang Suriyati was responsible for setting up Leadership and Management Centre of the Defence Academy in 2011. She assumed the appointment of Deputy Commandant Defence Academy on 22 July 2016 and was the Acting Commandant of Defence Academy in August 2020 until February 2021 before assuming the appointment of the Head of Inspectorate in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Inspectorate Unit.
Apart from the numerous key appointments held, Col Dayang Suriyati was actively involved in organising major significant events hosted by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces among others are ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting (ACDFIM) in 2003 and 2013, Chiefs of Defence Conference (CHOD) in 2014, and National Exercise in 2015.
Col Suriyati holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administrative Studies from University Brunei Darussalam in 1995 and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the S.Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore in 2010. In July 2006, she was bestowed Pingat Setia Bakti (P.S.B). She is a keen sportsperson and enjoys a healthy lifestyle.
